Located 35 miles south of Jackson Hole, Star Valley offers amazing outdoor and recreation opportunities. Star Valley is surrounded by Bridger Teton, Caribou and Targhee National Forests. It is 14 miles wide and 50 miles long and includes the communities of Afton, Thayne, Etna and Alpine. The Valley has four major rivers that intersect here. The Greys River runs into the Snake River from the north and the Salt River that flows from the south all converge into Palisades Reservoir. At the outlet of the reservoir the South Fork of the Snake River begins. This convergence of rivers help this part of the country have some of the best fly-fishing in the country. Additionally, there are abundant outdoor recreation activities from hunting, snow mobiling and boating to a plethora of other activities for the active lifestyle.
